Witch Shoes

I made these cute witch shoes for Joel's home teaching families. I found the idea on sugardoodle.net. I was so proud of myself for being so domestic. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Birthday Boy!

Kaleb had his 1st ever friend birthday party. He turned 5 on the 24th. He really wanted a Ben 10 birthday. If you are not familiar with that, then you must not have a 5 year old boy. We had a great time. The kids colored pictures when they first arrived. Then we played Ben 10 bingo, designed by Joel. We played a few more games. We ate some delicious Omnitrix cake designed by the pilchers, and Kaleb opened up some awesome presents. He couldn't wait for that part. We had a lot of help from Grandmas and aunts and friends. So thanks everyone for helping out. It was a success. Happy Birthday Kaleb. I can't believe you are 5 already. We love you.

The Host

Joel has been working on this project for Hobo Skate and Stephanie Meyer for awhile now and it finally launched today. You can see all the products at http://www.hoboskateco.com/ All the Hobo Skate designs were done by him as well. Pretty exciting!

California

I took a trip with Joels mom and Grandma to Bakersfield California. Jesse,Joel's brother, is there selling alarm systems. So we went for a trip to see my nephew for his 3rd birthday. Now, Bakersfield isn't known for it's beautiful beaches and shopping. It's oil city! Thankfully we were able to drive 2 hours away to beautiful Santa Monica. The kids have never been to the ocean, so it was really fun to see them play at the beach. We strolled along the pier and had dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant. On the way back to Bakersifeld, the grandmas and I decided to go along the coast for a scenic view. Well we thought we had looked at the map right and knew where we were going. I guess the map wasn't very good, cuz we got lost. We eventually found our way back to Bakersfield at 12 o'clock at night. Good thing the kids will sleep in the car. It was pretty funny. We took a trip to the Bakersfield Zoo, which was interesting and really hot! But overall we had a great time seeing Deidre and the kids and occasionally visiting with busy Jesse. Thanks Deidre for putting up with us and taking care of us while we visited. We can't wait for you to come home to Utah. Unfortunately, Joel was not able to join us on our adventure. He stayed home to work. We missed him and are glad to be back home.

Jackson Hole

We took our kids to Jackson Hole Wyoming with my parents and brother and wife. Joel hasn't been there before, so it was fun to take him. We went to the Tetons and Jenny's lake to hike up to the waterfall. It was really beautiful. The view was amazing and not too hot! We watched the shoot out that they do downtown. I told Kaleb all about it, so he was pretty excited. But of course during the show, he had to pee really bad. So Joel took him to the bathroom and they missed the whole thing! I don't know if he was that sad, but I was. Oh well. We went to the Jackson hole playhouse and watched "Grease". It was really funny. The theater is really run down, but they did a great job. We swam in the pool and walked around the city. It was a nice trip. Thanks mom and dad for inviting us and Bruce and Jamie for putting up with the kids!

4th of july '09

Okay, I know it's a month late, but I never have time to get on the computer. At least it gets done sometime! This year for the 4th we took our kids to dinner at Kaleb's favorite place, Wieners! (aka Wingers). Then we headed to Thanksgiving Point to watch fireworks. We had great seats, right behind the movie theater. Suprisingly the traffic wasn't that bad. We had some fun with the camera and the kids were being really goofy.

It was Avree's 1st time seeing fireworks. She liked them at first, and I think she got bored after awhile. It was nice just having our little family do something together. They sure are cute!

Lake Powell Trip

Last weekend we took the kids to Lake Powell with Joels' family. The kids really loved it. We hiked up Dark Canyon which is by Hite Marina and swam in these pools of water. I was surprised at how well the kids did hiking. Avree had it pretty easy, but Kaleb stayed with us all the way, thanks to his Aunts and Uncles who helped him. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water. If you haven't ever had a chance to go, I totally recommend it.

Joel and the kids chillin on the boat.

Avree loved to do this during rides.

That pudding must be delicious.

Apparently Kaleb really needed to go to the bathroom. Don't worry, it's censored.

Isn't that beautiful.

I promise he's not crying. He really liked it.

Easy ride!

T-Ball

We signed Kaleb up to play t-ball this year with the city. He's really enjoying it. He's got 2 of his friends on his team. It's been nice to see him get out and enjoy something like this. He loves to be out and playing with other kids.

Kaleb up to bat. He got out each time he hit because he forgot to run. We're working on that.

Baja Cruise= no kids!

At the beginning of June, Joel and I went on a cruise with some friends of ours. It was a lot of fun. We went to Vegas on the way, that was interesting. Then headed to San Diego. We went to Catalina Island and then to our surprise were able to go to Ensenada Mexico. Originally we weren't suppose to port there because of the Swine flu. But we had to dock for customs to check the boat and they let us get off. The people there were so excited to have us come. We were the 1st cruise ship in 2 months! We had a great time with our friends. Thanks guys!
