The Grand America Experience

Tea anyone? Or maybe hot chocolate. My sisters and I took my mom out for "tea" for her birthday at the Grand America Hotel. It was very delicious. I started off with a coconut almond hot chocolate. Yum! Then they brought on the finger sandwiches, biscuits and cucumber sandwiches. All was delicious except I didn't try the salmon with caviar. Didn't sound very inviting. Then we had dessert. 3 french pastries a fruit tart, pear tart and a butterscotch bar. Also 2 delicious and sweet strawberries. You could have also had some chocolate cake or cheesecake. It was so much fun to have an afternoon of silliness and laughter with my beautiful mom and sisters. It is something we for sure need to have as a tradition. We then walked around the beautiful hotel and had some fun. Later that evening we all joined my mom for her birthday dinner at McGraths. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with some magical entertainment provided by my brother. It was such a fun day. So happy birthday mommy!! WE love you so much and appreciate all that you do for us as a mom and grandma. There are a few pics, sorry.

Cheers to our beautiful mom!

6 months and counting...

I can't believe our baby is 6 months old. Tayler is growing tremendously. At her 6 month checkup she weighed in at 16 lbs. She's not so little anymore. She is such a joy in our home. The only ones who can get her to laugh really hard are her brother and sister. She's a very happy baby. Sleeps all night long since 1 month old. Gotta love babywise. She's started eating solids more regularly. She's constantly watching what we are eating and wants a taste. I'm afraid she's a mommas girl, but she does give her dad beautiful smiles often. I'm really trying to enjoy every moment I have with her as a baby. They just grow up too fast.

Christmas and Birthday 2010

Finally! A blog about our Christmas. This year we did the usual. Opened presents at home together, then headed to Grandma and Grandpa Pilchers. We were able to Skype Ty in Italy for a little bit. That was fun to actually see him. We headed to Grandma and Grandpa Harmons for lunch and to open more presents. Then headed back to Pilchers for Birthday celebration. Joel turned 31 this year. Man he's getting old. We kept this year pretty simple. But it was so nice. The kids loved everything they got. The best was shopping this year on black friday. I went with some crazy neighbors and headed to walmart at 11 at night. I really needed to get a zhu zhu pet for the kids. So as we waited right in front of the pile of zhu zhu pets for the clock to turn 12, 2 pregnant ladies were in front with a cart blocking the line. As soon as it struck 12, they started loading arms full of the zhu zhu pets in their cart. Well I didn't think that was fair. I only needed 2. So I innocently grabbed 2 from their cart. Who really needs 10 zhu zhu pets anyway. Just so you know, I wasn't the only one. Needless to say, the kids loved their zhu zhu pets. So it was worth it. We didn't get many pics this year. We neglected to prepare the cameras before hand. Batteries were dead on the camera and ran out of tape on the video camera. I think that's pretty much a tradition around here. Maybe I'll do better next year.

Joel snapped a picture of the beautiful sunrise the other day. Isn't it breathtaking. We have such beautiful views from our home.

Going, going, gone?

So many of you know that Kaleb knocked out one of his front teeth when he was 3. Well he is starting to loose his teeth naturally now. His other front tooth was loose for a while. He came home from school one day, and I noticed he had blood on his lip. First thought was, what happened? Did someone hit you? So I asked him what happened to his lip. He looked at me confused. Then the thought came to mind, "open your mouth". To our surprise his other front tooth was gone. How did he not know you ask? Well I guess he was eating snow at the bus stop and it got stuck in the snow. Guess it was too cold for him to notice it was gone. Unfortunately the tooth fairy never found his tooth, so he didn't get anything. He's on his way to loosing another tooth. Maybe he'll be more careful this time.

Great Great Grandma

I love the look on Tayler's face. She's really studying her great great grandma Ruth. I had to snap a picture of this. How awesome is it that she has a great great grandma around. We love grandma Ruth. She's not afraid to share her thoughts or tell you that she doesn't like what you named your kid. ha! By the way, Tayler was down to a diaper because she had a blowout. I think Grandma Ruth thought she was a boy. Too funny.
