Labor Day

This Labor day we were planning on going to my parents house in St.George for some R&R. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away from cancer. So we headed to vegas for the funeral. The funeral was amazing. Her son did her eulogy of her life which was awesome. She was an amazing woman. Then 2 of her other children spoke. She had such a strong testimony of the gospel and of the scriptures. It really made me think of what I'm teaching my children. I know I need to do better about reading the scriptures on my own and also to my children. I used to read to them every morning while they ate breakfast. I guess I need to do that again.
After spending the day in vegas, we headed back to St. George to relax at my parents. We took the kids swimming and just relaxed. The best part about the trip is this video I have of Avree. She fell asleep in the car and was sucking her fingers (which she's done since she was 2 months old)It was so funny, I just couldn't resist recording it. So take a look.

1st day of school

Both Kaleb and Avree started school last week. Kaleb had his first day of kindergarten. He rides the bus to and from school. He wasn't to sure what to expect. I kept asking him if he was excited about school. He would just tell me, "i don't know. I don't know what it's like". Well he's adjusted very well and enjoys going. He gets to play at the park everyday because his bus stop is at the park in our neighborhood. Not sure if I can trust him to walk home by himself cuz he always wants to play. I'm not one of those moms who cries when their kids go to school. I've been looking forward to this. It's really nice to have something for him to do. He gets so bored at home. Always wants to play with a friend. So now he can see his friends everyday. Wahoo!!
Avree started Preschool this year. She has been eagerly waiting for this day. She was so excited to get up her first day of school and while we were getting ready, her teacher called to say she was sick and cancelled the 1st day. She was pretty disappointed. But they finally started last thursday. She had no problem saying goodbye to me. She walked right in, while some other kids were hesitant. She's becoming so independent, but still gets excited when she see's me. She's been singing the alphabet and telling me what letters they are writing. Kaleb came home with homework and she wanted to do some to. So I found some on the internet. She was so excited about it.
It's so fun to see them grow up. They say the funniest stuff and it usually catches me off guard. Here are some pics of their first day...
